Who to contact about data
The contact for Zoobr support and data processing questions is Kirill Tarelkin: kennymc150@mail.ru.
This policy covers the Zoobr app and zoobr.app. Third-party services that process requests have their own data handling policies.
What is stored on your device
Zoobr saves courses and lessons, chat history, attached materials, progress, saved questions and preferences. This lets you continue learning and revisit previous discussions.
AI and narration keys configured in the app are saved in the device’s secure storage. They are used to authorise requests to the corresponding services. Do not share keys with others or include them in support requests.
What is sent to process requests
- Course and lesson creation: the selected topic, description, learning context and information about attached materials needed for generation.
- AI tutor: your message, part of the conversation history and lesson context. Attached images may be sent to a model that supports photos.
- Image generation: a description for creating a cover or illustration.
- Narration: the text to turn into speech and the chosen voice.
- Speech recognition: the audio recording you submit for transcription.
Do not include information you do not want external services to receive. A model needs learning context to respond, but usually does not need identity documents, payment details or passwords.
Technical diagnostics
The Zoobr client keeps a small diagnostic log in memory: app events, the build number, technical errors and app state. Lesson and chat text, course titles and access keys are not included.
You may choose to share this log through the system share sheet. Opening the share sheet does not mean the log has been sent.
Services handling network requests may receive technical information needed for connectivity and security, such as an IP address, request time and technical parameters.
Who receives data
| Purpose | Service |
|---|---|
| Courses, explanations and chat | The AI gateway and connected language model providers |
| Covers and illustrations | Image generation providers |
| Narration and speech recognition | Connected speech services |
| Push notifications, if enabled | Expo and platform notification services |
| Website delivery | Vercel |
Transfers depend on the feature you use and the services configured in your build. Each service’s own policies apply to processing on its side.
If you configure your own AI service
Builds that support AI or narration settings allow you to select a supported model and enter your own access key. Requests pass through the service or gateway configured in the app; the key is used for authorisation.
Review that service’s privacy policy and terms before using it. Choosing a different model does not mean that requests stop being processed on a server.
Device permissions
- Camera: to photograph a problem or other learning material.
- Photos: to add selected images to a chat or learning materials.
- Microphone: to record a spoken question.
- Notifications: for notification features in supported builds. When enabled, the notification service receives a transport push token.
- Background playback: to keep audio playing when the screen is off.
You can change permissions in your device settings. Without permission, the corresponding feature may be unavailable.
Storage and deletion
You can delete local chats and courses in the app. Deleting a local item does not guarantee deletion of copies held by services that previously processed a request.
Uninstalling the app normally removes its local storage, but secure Keychain entries and operating system backups may remain. Use the app’s settings clearing function for access keys.
To request deletion of data associated with you or ask about server retention periods, email kennymc150@mail.ru. Specify the affected materials and services without including passwords or keys.
External providers’ retention periods are determined by their own policies. This version of the document does not promise automatic server deletion after a fixed number of days.
Children
If a child uses Zoobr, we recommend involvement from a parent or legal guardian, especially when using AI or sending materials. Do not send a child’s personal information through the app unnecessarily.
If you believe a child’s data has been sent to us, email kennymc150@mail.ru so we can review the request.
Model-generated content
Explanations, lessons, answers, illustrations and narration may be generated by AI and may contain errors or inappropriate results. They support learning but do not replace verified sources, a teacher or professional advice.
Report inaccurate or inappropriate content to kennymc150@mail.ru. Rights to source materials remain with their respective owners.
Policy changes
When data handling changes, we update this document and the date at the bottom. The current policy is available at https://zoobr.app/en/privacy.
